Here Are 17 DC Shows And Movies Releasing After Superman

The DC entertainment landscape is changing. A new lineup of films and shows is coming, aiming to reshape its movie and TV presence. James Gunn and Peter Safran are leading this creative effort.

Following Superman’s debut, DC Studios is creating a diverse array of films that will develop a dynamic universe featuring cosmic gods, street-level vigilantes, and terrifying monsters.

Here are all the DC movies and shows officially slated to be released after Superman.

1. Peacemaker season 2

Release date: Aug. 21, 2025

The second season of Peacemaker follows the journey of Christopher Smith, portrayed by John Cena, with its events taking place after the Superman film.

Gunn teased in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that season 2 was designed with his new DC universe in mind. “I developed it along the way, in conjunction with the other DC projects that we’re doing, so it’s very much connected to Superman and it’s very much connected to what comes after,” Gunn said. “There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show.”

2. Lanterns

Release date: Early 2026

Lanterns is set to debut in early 2026. This mystery series follows Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, and Jon Stewart, played by Aaron Pierre—two of the most iconic characters who have taken on the role of Earth’s Green Lantern. Together, they investigate a murder in Nebraska.

“The goal is to create something that feels timeless and grounded without sacrificing the magic of the source material,” said showrunner Chris Mundy ( True Detective: Night Country) in a statement.

3. Supergirl

Release Date: June 26, 2026

This upcoming project in the ‘Gods And Monsters’ phase will star Milly Alcock, known for her breakout roles in House of the Dragon and Sirens, in the title role as Superman’s younger cousin. She has previously made a cameo appearance in Superman and is the owner of the dog, Krypto. Craig Gillespie, acclaimed for directing I, Tonya and Cruella, will helm the project, which is set to be released in June 2026.

“We will see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, raised on a rock, a chip off of Krypton, and who watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life and then come to Earth,” Gunn said of the film in 2023 ( via The Hollywood Reporter).

Flanagan penned the script and James Watkins ( Speak No Evil) will direct, with The Batman director Matt Reeves producing.

“It’s a body horror movie,” said Gunn. “It’s a horror movie that, like any cool body horror movie, just happens to be in the DCU.”

5. The Batman: Part II
